Writing Good SEO content for Joomla 1.5

Using Joomla 1. 5 to Target Keywords for Search Engine Optimization

This article is about writing SEO content for your Joomla 1 .5 web site and matching up that content to your Joomla sites Meta, Title, and Descriptions.

First think in your head what you plan to write about and select your primary keywords for your article. Go to Google.com's Free keyword look up tool. Type in the primary key word you want to target for example "Joomla SEO" Google will come back with minimal information but enough for you too look at what keywords that have the most traffic. The more popular the keyword the more results you see. Make sure you scroll all the way to the botom and look at the defined keyword you typed. look and compare it to the other keywords that are related. When you find your primary keyword with the most traffic write it down. Next pick out 1 or 2 more that you will use as sub keywords in your writing. This leaves you with 1 primary Keywords and 2 additional sub keywords. Try to keep your keywords to less then 3 word phrases.

At this point you should have the article you want to write about in your head, a list of your primary keywords and 1 or 2 more related keywords. Now its time to write your article.

Write your article with lots of complex words with 3 or more syllables. Don't hurt yourself thinking of big words. Just write naturally and the words will come to you. You should try to write your article with your primary keywords stated in a natural way. You should list your primary keyword every couple of sentences and season in your other 2 sub keywords. Don't over stuff your article with your primary keywords. Think of this rule in your head "always write naturally and season your article with more then less of your primary keywords. Don't forgot about proper English and spelling the search engine is smart and reads like a college professor would."

Another point for Joomla 1.5 site  is that you should disable all the auto Title functions. (Content>Article Manager>Parameters) These are not good for SEO. No need for the PDF icons replicating your content or the time of who it was wrote the article. Keep everything simple and use aka headings tags instead. Make sure you season your heading tags with your keywords.

How to disable Joomla Titles

Lets talk SEO and Meta for Joomla 1.5.

After you finish your article and your holding your primary keywords in your hands. Your title should have about 6 - 12 Keywords. Your description should have about 200 Characters. The same description should be between 12 and 24 words. Keywords should be less then 1000 characters. You should have your primary title and description keywords listed in the meta keywords and vice versa. You should keep your keywords to less then 48 words.

Again these are only recommendations and not to be followed like a bible. The goal of this article is to give you the basics of targeting keywords that you want to come up under in the search engine. This will be the start to your doing your own SEO and preparing to get your specific keywords to the top of the search engine.
